Delete your EchoFrame account
You can delete your account and everything in it from the app. If you no longer have the app, you can ask us by email.
From the app
- Open EchoFrame and go to the Settings tab.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Tap Delete forever to confirm.
Your photos are erased first and your account second. If the connection drops halfway, the app tells you how far it got, and trying again finishes the job.
By email, without the app
Write to support@echoframe.help from the email address you signed up with and ask us to delete your account. Your username helps us find it.
We reply to that address to make sure the request comes from you. Once you confirm, we delete the account and everything listed below, then write back to tell you it is done. All of this happens within one month of your request, as the GDPR requires.
What is deleted
- Your account: email address, username, profile photo and sign-in details.
- Every echo you left, with its photo and its location.
- Your comments and ratings on other people's echoes.
- Your messages. The conversation disappears for the other person too.
- Your circle: friends, friend requests and the people you blocked.
- The list of echoes you walked to and unlocked.
- Your notification settings and the push tokens of your devices.
- Reports you made about other people's content.
This cannot be undone
We cannot restore a deleted account, its echoes or its photos. Once they are gone, nobody can open your echoes, not even someone standing on the spot.
What is kept, and for how long
- Encrypted backups. Your data ages out of them within about 7 days of the deletion.
- Operational logs. Kept for a short period for security and debugging, then deleted.
- Your phone. Settings and discovery history stored on the device stay there until you clear them or uninstall the app.
- The waitlist. If you also joined the waitlist on this website, that email address is separate from your account. Use the unsubscribe link in any waitlist email, or ask in the same email and we will remove it too.
The full retention schedule is in the Privacy Policy.
